John Gummer
Chairman – Rt Hon John Gummer, Lord Deben
John was, until recently, a Member of Parliament and his ministerial career began with his appointment as a Conservative Whip and then as an Employment Minister. He served as Minister for Health and Safety and Minister for Local Government.
John became a Cabinet Minister, under both Margaret Thatcher and John Major, serving as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food and then as Secretary of State for the Environment.
He was the UK Environmental Secretary from 1993-1997 where he played a key role in the “Convention on Climate Change” meetings held in Berlin and Geneva. The Secretary-General of the United Nations named him as one of a small Committee of Distinguished Persons advising on Habitat II (UN Conference on Human Settlements). In 1996, He was also elected Chairman of the Environmental Committee of the OECD by his fellow ministers. Friends of the Earth called him the best Environment Secretary they had ever had.
After his term as Secretary of State, John was awarded the Medal of Honour by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds – the UK’s largest environmental organisation. He is the only Government Minister to have ever received this award.
Kim Slowe
Managing Director
Kim is a former Royal Navy helicopter pilot and frigate Captain.
He has been developing high quality sustainable homes for the past 10 years and has been a pioneer in the delivery of commercially viable sustainable development in the United Kingdom.
Kim started the development company Cornhill Estates in 2000 and spearheaded the transformation of Cornhill Estates into ZeroC.
An acknowledged expert on delivering low carbon homes, he has presented extensively on the subject both in the UK and overseas.
Kim is the founder of Ecofirst (www.ecofirst.net) and Ecofirst Consult (www.ecofirstconsult.co.uk). He is a founder member of the Good Homes Alliance and is an active member of the Prince’s Foundation.
Kim’s lead is on scheme delivery and business development.
Alistair Cheetham
Finance Director
A chartered accountant, Alistair has worked for many years in property and has recently worked as a Finance Director for a large national house builder.
He brings a wealth of experience to ZeroC.
Robert Letts
Sustainability Director
After a first career as a designer working for modernist architects and museum designers on interiors for buildings, exhibitions and galleries, Robert then developed a career with the BBC as a documentary producer.
Attracted back to working in the built environment, specialising in sustainable & low carbon building design, Robert is a Director of Zeroc and heads up Ecofirst Consult.
Craig Bates
Associate Director – Projects
Craig is a Chartered Surveyor with a broad range of experience in the property industry spanning over twenty years. His early career encompassed residential and commercial estate agency in London, the Home Counties and the South West of England. This culminated in heading up a commercial agency department for a large corporate, carrying out specialist commercial bank valuation work.
Craig joined ZeroC as a land buyer in 2003 and has since specialised in the field of sustainable construction. As a licensed BRE Assessor he is fully conversant with the New Code for Sustainable Homes, advising Zero C contractors and other developers on a consultancy basis.
Mark Robinson
Associate Director – Construction
Having graduated from the University of Westminster, London, with a BSc honours degree in Building and Construction Management, Mark worked as a site manager gaining experience in both the UK and Irish construction markets on acclaimed residential and commercial schemes.
Mark is a NHBC Pride in the Job award winner. Whilst in Ireland he worked on several sites adopting renewable energy technologies and is a registered Building Energy Assessor for new buildings with Sustainable Energy Ireland.
Emma Glenn-Camfield
Customer Services and Marketing Manager
Emma has many years experience in property and an in-depth understanding of the many pressures a purchaser faces when buying a new home.
Emma will always be on hand to guide you through the buying process and to give you friendly advice when needed.
Emma alos leads ZeroC’s rapidly growing marketing team.
Mark (Ned) Kelly
Architectural Technician
Mark began his career at his father’s building company and local architects practices combining his passion for the understanding of buildings and his flair for technical drawing.
Mark graduated in architecture from Oxford Brookes University in 1996 and has since pursued his career in London, Oxford, Birmingham and Bath. Mark has developed an extensive working knowledge of traditional domestic & listed buildings to bespoke modern homes to large developments of over 100 dwellings.
He has designed and patented an insulated walling system and specialises in construction drawings and close technical support for onsite operations. He is responsible for the production of our drawing program and for the delivery of information to our construction team. Mark is focused on well built and well insulated homes that exceed current legislation and meet the design aspirations and future expectations of home owners.
Graham Mounce
Financial Controller
Graham joined ZeroC in April 2007. He is a qualified accountant with extensive experience.
He previously worked as Financial Accountant for Eldridge Pope & Co plc, the Dorchester based brewers and public house retailers.
Andy Trim
Project Manager
Andrew qualified in construction over 30 years ago his career has led him into operations management working with Local Authority, private and commercial clients.
His work then evolved to encompass the project management of schemes in the residential and commercial sectors nationally including social housing, hospitals, restaurants and hotel developments.
Mike (Jack) Frost
Quantity Surveyor
Having graduated from the University of Northumbria, with a BSc honors degree in Quantity Surveying, Mike worked for a leading multi-disciplinary practice for a period of 8 years gaining experience in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors, progressing to the position of Senior QS.
Mike then spent a period of 6 years working in the New Zealand construction industry, as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for both a leading Professional practice and an emerging Main Contractor. During this time Mike also had the opportunity to work on a Luxury Resort project in Fiji.
Upon returning to the UK, Mike joined Zero C and is responsible for the financial management of the company’s construction contracts.
Kate Baker
Projects and Marketing Assistant
Graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2010 with a BSC in Geography and from the University of Exeter in 2012 with an MSC with Merit in Sustainable Development.
The award for the youngest member of the team has now been handed to Kate.
Assisting in marketing and sales, and supporting the Project Managers while she learns the ropes of the development industry.
Cheryl Robson
Account Manager
A highly experienced accounts manager, Cheryl has been with the Company since August 2006.
Her duties include the day to day operation of purchase and sales ledgers, credit control, bank and cash book, project accounting, dealing with utilities and rating authorities and ensuring everything in the office runs smoothly.
